Obama’s daughter to visit Providence

Multiple sources, on a condition of anonymity, told the NBC 10 I-Team Malia Obama is expected to visit Brown University in Providence next week, while the school is on spring break.
Recently, the President's 16-year-old daughter has been touring colleges across the country. Malia was spotted at the University of California - Berkeley and Stanford University last year. Stanford is where Chelsea Clinton spent her college years.
In February, tweets from students at New York University and Columbia said Malia and the First Lady were seen on campuses there.
Brown is no stranger to famous students and sons and daughters of Presidents.
Amy Carter attended Brown in the 1980's before leaving for another school.
John F. Kennedy Junior graduated in 1983 with a degree in history, and other Kennedy cousins also attended Brown.
George Harrison's son, Dhani, graduated from the college in 2001. He studied visual arts.
More recently, the actress Ema Watson, who starred in the Harry Potter movies, walked the ivy campus on college hill, graduating last May.
Brown is also a familiar spot for the extended Obama family. Michelle Obama's brother, Craig Robinson, was the Brown basketball coach from 2006 to 2008.
NBC 10 News did not receive a comment from Brown, the White House, nor Secret Service, in regards to Obama's trip.
The President has been conspicuously absent from his daughter's collegiate tour and that's likely due to the large contingent of press and staff that follows the office.
Malia Obama's recent visits have surprised students and staff. Last year, during a commencement ceremony at Worcester Technical High School, President Obama said, “Part of the reason I'm here is because I've got to practice, because Malia is graduating in two years. So, I'm trying to get used to not choking up and crying and embarrassing her.”
