Modelers Boat Heaven in Island Cove Marina

On Sunday, January 30th, we had our MSSM meeting at Bill Stevens' work at Island Cove Marine in Old Saybrook, CT. (What an amazing workshop; that every boat modeler can only dream of having a place like his). Club members came to see his

place but more importantly, to use his space and equipment to work on the scratch build model of the Kingston II tugboat project. To those who don’t know the Kingston II, it is now in the entrance of Mystic Seaport.

The club members are building a scratch replica and from time to time, I will bring up dates. During the visit, I was also given a tour of the showroom above the workshop to see some of the amazing work Bill has done. What amazing quality.

In summary we had a great meeting, some progress and a great host. Thank you, Bill Stevens, for your kindness and generosity.

Stay tuned. We have an event on March 19 in Mystic where we will display some of the models from club members to the public.
