In the last few months I have progressed on the two model boats I am building. The Emma C. Berry hull is complete and painted and many components on the deck are finished as well. Now it's time to finish the mast and all other parts. Enjoy the photos.
As to the second model boat, the Maggie M. fishing boat, I have now finished the propulsion system and assembled the top deck. The next step is to work further on the top deck and prepare the boat for the first layer of primer paint.
Also, for the first time, I had the opportunity to visit our friends at the Mystic Model Boat Club and saw the new room which was given to us to be used by Mystic Seaport. It is nice that we can all meet in one place where we can exhibit models, store them and build a library for the club. Lester Palifka described his model boat that he now built called Baby Bootlegger
and Hans Berger showed us how he built a vacuum plastic forming device and the use of it. See video. Great fun for all of us.
Until next time, we hope the weather will improve so we can sail our model boats outdoors.
